Today's Wednesday Wisdom is brought to you by Indra Books of Agility for All. Do you have a question? Post it in the comments.
Today's question opens a Pandora's box because it depends on what the motivation is for asking it, but here's my short response. "What will we get if we do an agile transformation?" We like to look at it as more of a culture change than a transformation. For some reason, transformations have gotten a bad reputation of being like a diet that you don't stick with long-term.
We want to create a culture that supports this change and many more to come. But back to the question, "what will we get?" The sole purpose of moving to an agile mindset... notice, I didn't mention any frameworks methods or processes... is to achieve these three things. 1) avoid delays. 2) decrease risk. 3) deliver value.
We want to ADD; to add purpose to what you are doing and define the delivery value. So what you will get depends on where you are now, but also how you approach avoiding delays, decreasing risk and delivering value. We like to use a Liftoff with teams to get clarity around who they are and how they want to work and this will factor into those changes.
But as always, before you start any change in your organization, ask yourself this question. "What is the real problem we are trying to solve?"
And that is today's Wednesday Wisdom. Don't forget if you have a question post it in the comments. Tune in next week for our next segment.
