Today's Wednesday Wisdom is brought to you by Elvin Assiam, certified trainer and coach for Agility for All. Do you have a question? Post it in the comments.
So one of the questions I've been asked about recently is why agile teams should be T-shaped. T-shaped teams are an important part of agile development. They are teams that have a mix of skills and expertise with each team member having a deep understanding of one particular area and a broad understanding of other areas.
The benefits of T-shaped teams are numerous. I just want to talk about maybe a few.
Overall, T-shaped teams allow for greater collaboration and communication between team members. They are more agile and responsive to changing conditions.
This allows for more efficient problem solving and decision making as each team member can contribute their own expertise to the discussion and is levelheaded on what is happening. This allows the team to work together more effectively and to complete projects faster.
They can quickly identify areas or bottlenecks that need to be addressed. And this allows the team to quickly pivot and adjust to change in conditions, allowing them to remain agile and also responsive.
And you know, agile is about adapting quickly to change to suit what the customer needs within a short period of time. As agile is all about going to the market faster in time, t-shaped teams would help us to achieve these goals or these aims. So that is why it's very important for agile teams to be t-shaped.
Thank you for listening.
